Bodega Bay is a haven for those who love outdoor activities. The spectacular
scenery lends itself to hiking on some of the splendid hiking trails or just
beachcombing, and the area is renown for its abundance of Bird life. Water sport
lover's surfers enjoy terrific ocean breakers and rare is the day that
windsurfers can't get a blow on the Bay. Nor should we forget that Bodega Bay is
a commercial fishing port and home to many sport fisherman too. If Golf is your

referred to as "a cross between Pebble Beach and the Scottish links".

Abalone diving. These are just some of the options in Bodega Bay, which has some
of the best sport fishing in the world.
Golf
Robert Trent Jones, Jr., designed a true Scottish seaside Inns course,
reminiscent of those found in Scotland, birth place of this great game. On the
links at the Bodega Harbour you'll discover golf as it was meant to be! The
combination of rolling fairways, cavernous pot bunkers, undulating greens,
native rough and seaside marshes create a golf seting unmatched in North
America!
Hiking
Some of the most magnificent trails and hiking are right here. Hiking with the
ocean breeze encouraging each beat of your heart, pumping fresh oxygen to your
lungs is one of the simple pleasures that make life here in Bodega Bay so good!
There is hiking for young and old, short loops or several hour hikes--something for everyone.
Bird watching
Bodega Bay is probably the hottest birding spot in Sonoma County. More rare
birds have been spotted here than in any other area in the County. Owl Canyon,
"Hole-In-The-Head" and the bushes below Diekmann's Store have consistently
yielded great finds. Madrone Audubon organizes many birding trips to Bodega Bay,
including Walkabouts, Field Trips and Beginners Bird Walks. This is also a prime
spot for the Christmas Bird Count.
Horseback riding
A wonderful way to be out in nature is on horseback. We have some great trails
through the redwoods as well as places to ride on the beach right next to the
breaking waves. Couldn't bring your own horse with you? Rent one!
Wind surfing
Get out on the Bay and feel the wind power your board! Not for the faint of
heart, but great fun for the athletically inclined. Rentals and lessons
