Carmet Beach Warren Bellows (707) 829-5374 When I was painting this image on Carmet Beach, a stranger approached and asked “do you always paint faces in the rocks?” “Well, yes,” I replied, “because they are there.” This answer pleased him. He told me that his Miwok Indian tribe revered this particular beach. He said they collected a special seaweed here that was ready to harvest “only when white blossoms appear on the blackberry bush.” |

Bodega Bay Sunrise Kai Samuels-Davis Kai is a New York-born artist currently living and working in Jenner, CA. He moved to California in 2003 to attend the graduate program in film at Art Center College of Design. Though not directly pursuing film, cinematic themes often arise in his paintings, giving them the sense of being fragments of a larger framework of thoughts. His work is composed of figures, landscapes and objects focusing on the moments we keep to ourselves. Utilizing expressive realism, the images are cerebral and visceral, creating a mood of melancholy and solitude with an appreciation for it’s necessity and beauty. Kai has shown with galleries in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and England. His work is in private collections throughout the world. |

Duncan's Landing Jean Warren (707) 875-9240 My passion is to paint ‘en plein air’ or on-location at the coast and along Sonoma County’s hillsides, streams and pastures. This is a watercolor sketch taken from my sketchbook/journal. The rhythms of the landscape are my inspiration – the coastal fog, the rocky outcroppings, the brilliant green pastures and weathered barns invite curiosity and wonderment. |

Russian River & Hills Charles Beck (707) 874-1678 This painting of the Russian River is one of several works I've painted from the hills south of the river. It is a wonderful area for large scale views, hence the large format size of the painting, 30"x72". In the distance are the hills above Jenner and distant headlands that lead to Ft. Ross. I've been painting in Sonoma County since the late sixties and still hike or bike to the top of coastal ridges for the views. It is always well worth the effort. |
